Sunday night, Fox Sports Net aired the first in a series of Poker Dome Challenge shows. The Poke Dome is a speed poker tournament series designed by Mansion Poker. It is based in Las Vegas and will consist of several preliminary rounds of play to advance 5 players to the Poker Dome Championship. With fast climbing blinds and limited time for players to make decisions, it is different version of Texas Hold'em than fans are used to seeing on televisions. The pre flop betting is pot limit and moves to no limit after the flop.

The first table had some good competition seated with players such as Paul Dreyer, Brain Wilson, Jonathan "Mr. Flush" Sullivan, Frank Lacava, Peter Lawler and of course Rhowena "Mrs. C "Colclough. Rhowena is the wife of poker pro David "El Blondie' Colclough. The action started with Lawler getting sent to the rail by Wilson after an all in push after flopping top pair of Q's. Wilson hit a K high club flush on the turn.

Wilson's run was short lived when he and Sullivan both paired 8's on the flop and after the river it was Sullivan's ace kicker that made the difference. Paul Dreyer then became Mr. Flush's next victim when a 9 on the turn gave Sullivan 2 pair over Dreyer's KK. Next up on the chopping block was Lacava

who went all in after pairing up 9's on a flop of K-Q-9. Sullivan was holding K-6 and Lacava never hit another card.

When the heads up started, Colclough was at a 4-1 chip deficit to Sullivan with only 34,000. She quickly moved into the chip lead after doubling up twice before the final hand played out. She picked up A-K and called Sullivan's all in that watched the next five cards fall as 6-5-10-J-8 giving her king kicker the best hand.

When it was all over, a teary eyed Mrs. C walked away from her first live tournament with $25,000 and a seat at a semi final table that could win her another $50,000. The final table of the Poker Dome Challenge will see six players going at it for $1 million and the title of Poker Dome Challenge Champion. Seat's can still be won for the challenge on MANSIONPOKER.net. Qualifiers are as low as a .01 buy in. Taping of the events is being held at the Tropicana until the construction of the Neonopolis is completed.
